Sylantro Systems products include its Multiplay Application Feature Server, which the company says enables "rich, hosted IP communication services across fixed, mobile, and cable networks." The product won a 2007 Product of the Year Award from Technology Marketing Corp. of Norwalk, Conn., a business-to-business and integrated marketing media company that serves the communications and technology industries.

This acquisition further advances our market and innovative leadership position," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO of BroadSoft, in a statement. "Sylantro's solutions, talent and customers complement BroadSoft's business and enhance our ability to deliver compelling solutions and services to our customers."
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Besides Gaithersburg, and now, Campbell, BroadSoft has development and customer operations centers in Montreal; Dallas; Bangalore, India; Sydney, Australia; and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
BroadSoft ranked 42nd in the Washington region and 526th in the nation last year in Inc. magazine's annual study of the fastest-growing private companies. The privately held company saw revenue rise from $5.4 million in 2003 to $36.8 million in 2006, according to Inc.

BroadSoft, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, provides VoIP application software for the delivery of hosted telephony and multimedia services. Its flagship BroadWorks product is designed to help wireless, wireline and cable carriers deliver next-generation voice and multimedia applications, according to Broadsoft information.
BroadSoft was selected this year by Samsung Networks to provide its Internet telephone system and won a contract with Belgacom Group of Belgium for the telecommunications operator to use BroadWorks. Sylantro customers include AT&T, China Netcom, Nuvox, Qwest, StarHub and Swisscom.
