The Salvation Army is going online in a effort to raise money for needy families in Montgomery County during the holiday season.
The online donation program has been added to the Salvation Army's traditional red kettle bell ringers as the effects of the nationwide economic crisis make themselves felt in Montgomery County, said Capt. Michael Rojas, who leads the county's Germantown headquarters. Donations can be made until Dec. 24 by going to the Web site give.salvationarmyusa.org/
goto/MontgomeryMD.
The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony before the Salvation Army's annual toy distribution. The event is 10 a.m. Thursday at 20301 Century Blvd., Building 4, Germantown. For more information, call 301-515-5354, ext. 11.
