Prince George’s sees 135th homicide over the weekendA man found shot to death inside his Hillcrest Heights home Sunday was the 135th person murdered in Prince George’s County this year, according to police. The killing of Lamar John Mckelley, 31, was the first to exceed last year’s number of homicides with two weeks left before the end of the year. Police were called to Mckelley’s home at 3:47 p.m. Sunday at the 1100 block of Southview Drive when a visitor discovered his body and called police. He was not breathing and had a single gunshot to his upper body. A police spokeswoman would not say whether Mckelley appeared to know the attacker or whether his home showed signs of forced entry. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS. The Prince George’s County Police Department is offering a cash reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect.
