Police arrested a man early Dec. 8 in connection with a Dec. 6 homicide inside a tire business on Bladensburg Road in Cottage City.

Kandelario Garcia-Ramos, whose age has not been determined and has no fixed address, was arrested by Prince George’s County police officers, along with Takoma Park police officers, after investigators obtained a warrant, according to police.

Garcia-Ramos, who was in the area of the 1100 block of Lenden Avenue, tried to run when police approached him, but was apprehended. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro with no bond.

Police allege Garcia-Ramos is responsible for the stabbing death of Fernando Monge, 43, of Silver Spring. At about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 6, police responded to the Two Brothers Tire City in the 4300 block of Bladensburg Road after a witness called police to say he had gone to the shop to have a tire repaired and found Monge on the floor. Monge was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

Investigators say Garcia-Ramos is a former employee of the store and allege he stabbed Monge during a robbery.
