The Washington Area New Auto Dealers Association elected Tamara C. Darvish chairwoman. Darvish, vice president of Darcars Automotive Group of Silver Spring, is the first woman to chair the 90-year-old trade group.

Washington Adventist Hospital of Takoma Park named three members to its governing board: Carmen F. Camacho of Laurel, vice president and owner of Bud Miller Associates Inc.; Dr. David M. Brill of Washington, D.C., director of the hospital’s cardiac catheterization laboratory and a member of Cardiovascular Consultants PA.; and Dr. Arshad M. Sheikh of Potomac, director of women’s services at the hospital and also in private practice in Takoma Park.

Garson Claxton LLC of Bethesda named Warren A. Margolies an associate in its real estate practice. Previously, Margolies worked in the law department of shopping mall develooper Simon Property Group Inc.

Rose Financial Services of Rockville formed a board of advisers with three initial members: William Cole, a retired partner of Ernst & Young; Robert E. Evanson, retired president of McGraw-Hill Education and former CEO of Sea World Theme Park Group; and Tom Mierzwa, principal of the Fountainhead Group.

Micromet Inc. of Bethesda named Joseph P. Slattery a director and chairman of its audit committee, succeeding Phillip Schneider. Previously, Slattery was senior vice president and CFO of Digene Corp. and left when it was acquired by Qiagen in July. He also was an audit manager at KPMG and a staff auditor at Ernst & Young.

Ruppert Nurseries of Laytonsville promoted Mike Lubitz of Mount Airy to controller. Lubitz joined the company in 2004 as assistant controller. Also, Phil Key of Miller’s Island returned as director of landscape management operations. Key joined Ruppert in 1986 as field manager and was promoted several times.

The Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy named Rachel Glass executive director. Previously, Glass was Montgomery County campaign director for the United Way of the National Capital Area.

Discovery Communications of Silver Spring promoted Patrick Gates from interim to permanent president and general manager of Discovery Commerce. Before joining Discovery in 2005, Gates worked for Neiman Marcus, Barney’s New York, QVC, HSN and AOL Time Warner.

Immunomic Therapeutics Inc. of Gaithersburg and Baltimore named Roscoe M. Moore Jr. of Silver Spring to lead its business advisory board.

The Washington District Council of the Urban Land Institute named Lisa Rother executive director. Previously, Rother was planning manager in the Montgomery County Executive’s Office and chief of planning in Rockville.

Maple Life Financial of Bethesda named Kathleen A. Birrane senior vice president and general counsel. Previously, Birrane was an assistant attorney general, principal counsel for the Maryland Insurance Administration. She also was a principal with Kramon & Graham PA.

MCT Federal Credit Union of Rockville named Jeff Berger CFO. Previously, Berger worked for FedChoice Federal Credit Union, E.spire Communications and The Rouse Co.

Sodexho Inc. of Gaithersburg promoted James Taylor to president of its U.S. Senior Services Division. Previously, Taylor was corporate vice president in the president’s office.

Montgomery College of Rockville promoted Marshall Moore to vice president for administrative and fiscal services. Previously, Moore was chief business officer and finance director. Also, David Capp was promoted to associate vice president of college facilities and Donna Dimon to chief of budget and management studies.

Kaulkin Media of Rockville named Michael R. Klozotsky a health care analyst, part of the company’s new Analyst Group. Previously, Klozotsky was an instructor in the English Department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Also, Dimitri Michaud was named consumer finance analyst in the Analyst Group. Previously, Michaud worked for Countrywide Financial and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.).

Prince George’s

Aquilent Inc. Laurel promoted Danielle Cogar from executive vice president to COO and Melissa Hook from director of finance to CFO.

Integral Systems Inc. of Lanham named Arnold G. Hunter director of corporate security. Previously, Hunter worked for the Department of Defense. Integral also named Jeffrey A. Rosolio vice president of human resources. Previously, Rosolio was vice president of human resources for Indus Corp., I-Net Inc. and E.spire Communications Inc.

The following people associated with The Arc of Prince George’s County were named to the Commission for Individuals with Disabilities for Prince George’s County: board member Grace Williams, family resource coordinator Melonee Clark, staff member Oyetunde Oyegoke and members Donna Njoku and Susan Holland.

K Bank of Owings Mills promoted three employees in its Construction Permanent Division: Brett Egloff to vice president, and Heidi Dale and Capucine Pin to assistant vice president. Before joining K Bank, Egloff, of Gaithersburg, worked for Eastman Kodak and AT&T. Dale, of Annapolis, worked for a subsidiary of Citibank. Pin, of Annapolis, has been a loan officer at K Bank for five years.

Charles County Administrator Paul W. Comfort was re-elected for the third time as president of the Maryland County Administrators Association.

Martin Roesch was named IT Executive of the Year, Commercial Company, by the Tech Council of Maryland. Roesch, creator of Snort, is chief technology officer and founder of Sourcefire of Columbia.

ServicePower Technologies in Annapolis named Mark Duffin, 40, to its board as CEO, succeeding David Brisco, who remains an executive director. Previously, Duffin was a director with Rentokil Initial, Appian Technology and United Technologies.

Becker Group of Baltimore promoted the following to vice president: Diane Erickson, finance; Betty Bergeron, corporate services; Mary Burns, project management; Cormac Woods, fulfillment and support services; Linda Scarlett, regional accounts; and Greg Melroy, corporate relationships.

Loiederman Soltesz Associates Inc. of Rockville named Larry O. Day director of surveying in its Leonardtown office. Previously, Day owned Day Associates and worked for Thomas Builders.

Hodes, Pessin & Katz PA of Baltimore named Mark F. Scurti of Baltimore a member of its litigation department. Previously, Scurti was a managing shareholder at Scurti, Meiselman & Bledsoe PA.

Specialized Trauma Treatment and Recovery Inc. of Columbia named the following directors: Pam Klahr, executive director of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce; retired Howard County School administrator Beverly Koren; Allison Moran of The Growth Coach; and Julia Ramirez, Howard County Youth on Board representative from Oakland Mills High School.
