The Olney Town Center Advisory Committee next week will begin community outreach of its Illustrative Concept Plan for the redevelopment of the Olney Master Plan area in the heart of Olney.

The committee is chartered by the Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission to create a community-based vision of how a new Town Center would look and how it would function in relation to the surrounding neighborhoods.

The ICP will be displayed in Olney Library’s large meeting room 6-9 p.m. Dec. 5, followed by a special presentation 8-9 p.m., and again 1-5 p.m. Dec. 8, with a special presentation 2-3 p.m.

A permanent display will remain in the library throughout December. The library is located at 3500 Olney-Laytonsville Road.

The plan will also be presented at the next Greater Olney Civic Association meeting at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 11 in the community room of the Buffington RE⁄MAX Building, 3300 Olney-Sandy Spring Road.

The Olney Town Center Advisory Committee encourages comments on its plan. For more information, visit its Web site at www.olneytowncenter.org.
