Marlboro Mustangs win Metro Super Bowl

The Marlboro Mustangs 75-pound AAA football team rolled to a 40-14 victory against the Chantilly (Va.) Vikings at the Sports & Learning Complex in Landover to win the Metro Super Bowl.
Daniel Holmes led Marlboro by running for 250 yards and four touchdowns. Mikale Makle and Thomas Hayes also scored touchdowns and Anthony Harris, Christian Davis and Devin Butler also contributed to the offensive attack. Leon Scott, Xavier Hare, Kobi Thomas, Justin Long-Wright, Robert Rush and Kollin Smith anchored the offensive line.
Keshawn Hall, Brian Palmer, Adante' Rhodes, DeShawn Brooks, Elijah Bilal, Sean McLaughlin Jr., Jamal Wright, Rashad Robinson and Asiel Horton led a defense that allowed Chantilly just 40 yards rushing in the game. The win gave Marlboro its second consecutive undefeated season. The team is led by head coach Garland McNeal Jr. and assistant coaches Jerome Couplin, Marco Cooper, Lamont Davis, Antwon Kyle, Bill McNeil and Ty Butler.
Vikings capture CBL crown
The 210 Vikings of Forest Heights defeated the undefeated Forestville Falcons to win the Capital Beltway League Junior National Division championship held at Georgetown Prep High School on Saturday. The Vikings will continue their season in hopes of winning the Division III Maryland Youth Championship on Dec. 13 at Morgan State University. The 210 Vikings is a subsidy of Patuxent Football & Cheer Inc.

Baseball camp planned
DeMatha Catholic High School will hold a winter instructional baseball camp for players in fifth through eighth grades looking to develop their skills in hitting, defense, fielding and base-running. Educational clinic planned
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Prince George's County is sponsoring Write to Succeed educational clinic for student-athletes from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Sports & Learning Complex in Landover. The Prince George's Soccer League seeks teams in the U-12 and older age groups to play as invitational teams this fall. Invitational teams must be available to play three games.
