Northrop Grumman of Linthicum Heights won $44.5 million from the U.S. Marine Corps for radar system development and demonstration.
Northrop Grumman Security Systems of Linthicum Heights won up to $15.1 million from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for autonomous biodetectors.
Raytheon of Riverdale won $5.2 million from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for the maintenance of the hardware and software of the Earth Observing System Data and Information System Core System Science Data Processing System.

Lockheed Martin of Bethesda has agreed to acquire Universal Systems & Technology of Centreville, Va., which provides interactive training and simulation, homeland security, and technical systems to the Pentagon, Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security and other federal and international government agencies. It has more than 400 employees.
Northwest Biotherapeutics of Bethesda obtained $500,000 in debt funding from Toucan Partners of Bethesda pursuant to a loan agreement and promissory note.
