In the girls' soccer game that kicked off the proceedings, Joy Doucette (Eleanor Roosevelt) and Ashley Furbush (Laurel) each scored to lead the Blue team over the Gold team, 2-1. Bowie senior Allyson Worthman scored the lone goal for the Gold team, while goalkeeper Mary Theresa Callahan (Bowie) recorded nine saves in a losing cause.
In the boys' soccer game that followed, Bowie senior Mamond Sesay scored two goals, including one on a penalty kick, to lead the Gold team to a 3-1 victory over the Blue team. Forestville forward Joselyn Banguara scored the other goal for the Gold team and was named the game's most valuable player. High Point midfielder Joel Musa scored the lone for the Blue team.
While the boys' soccer game was being played under rapidly cooling conditions outside, the volleyball match took place inside the gym. The Gold team, coached by Diana Hines of Oxon Hill, defeated the Blue team, coached by Jackson Burnett of Northwestern, 3-1.
The Gold team, which consisted of Roosevelt's Mercedes Maynard and Funmi Akinyode, Bowie's Michelle Ward and Amanda Clark, Forestville's Shanique Roana and Mychelle Allen and Kasey Vernon (High Point), Ashley Powell (Friendly), Karen Elias (Laurel) and Anna Thompson (Suitland) prevailed, 25-18, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-14. Maynard and Akinyode worked well together at the net and both did ample damage with their serves.
The Blue team was led by Nadeige Chop (Charles H. Flowers), Christian Tompkins (Henry A. Wise), Adaku Idika (Bladensburg), Dawarda Lucas (Crossland), Trina Alexandra (Oxon Hill) and the Northwestern tandem of Francis Jackson and Katherine Coleman and Parkdale's Azizat Kadiku and Maryland Okofo. Chop carried the Blue team to victory in the second game with her serving, recording four aces among her nine service winners.
