Not elected, but still active
|
I wanted to extend my most sincere gratitude for the voters who took their time to visit the polls Nov. 3. While I was disappointed with my loss, I am not disappointed in the least with the experience that I have had over the past eight weeks. I can say that each of the incumbents and challengers reached out to me as a neighbor, not as an opponent. I am also appreciative for the cheerful volunteers and voters who expressed their support for me and feel confident that each person who ran or voted in this election maintains a genuine passion for the city of Bowie and the families who enjoy living here.
I would also like to thank our neighbor, The Bowie Star, for their coverage and expressing all of the candidates', supporters' and voters' views. You have summoned me to keep up my youthful exuberance and to stay active in the city. It is with great enthusiasm that I invite the citizens of Bowie to explore their local opportunities. Everybody in the city can experience their own youthful exuberance by becoming involved in the city's functions and organizations that empower our citizens both young and old.
As a person with great passion for enriching the lives of people, I will not let you down.
Tony Kennedy, former at-large City Council candidate, Bowie
