Greenbelt police have charged two men with attempted first-degree murder after a shooting Sunday night in Greenbelt.
Just before midnight, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery near 20 Parkway, which is primarily residential, and discovered the gunshot victim, who was transported to a local hospital. Details about the exact location of the shooting and whether anything was stolen have not been released.
The victim's identity, including city of residence, gender and condition, are not being released because the case is still under investigation, said Greenbelt police spokeswoman Kelly Lawson.
After the police responded to the call, "the area was searched by officers, K-9 and helicopter," Lawson said.
The search led officers to locating the two suspects: Derrick Rashid Martin, 23, and Terrence Marcel McCommon, 21. Online court records for Prince George's County District Court list Georgia residences for both men. Neither had an attorney listed Wednesday.
The two were charged with attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and first-degree assault, according to a press release from the Greenbelt Police Department.
Both men were released to the Department of Corrections and are being held without bond. They have been scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 14.
