According to police, two anonymous calls to Third District police about 1:30 a.m. reported two males who appeared to be carrying a body into the apartment building in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard.
Police and fire and rescue personnel responded and found an unresponsive female in the stairwell. She was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple injuries to her face, which police have attributed to her death but could not elaborate on.
As of Wednesday, police have identified the woman but are not releasing her name for fear of jeopardizing the investigation, said Lucille Baur, a spokeswoman with Montgomery County Police.
Police have said they would like to speak to the two young men who appeared to be carrying the body as well as the person who called the police to report the incident.
Police are also interested in speaking to two occupants of a red Lexus with that was reported at the scene because they "may have seen something," said Lt. Paul Starks, a spokesman with Montgomery County Police.
