The County Council and county executive still don't get it on taxes. The attempts to resurrect the ambulance fee (tax) whether through direct charges or through speed or red light fees (tax) clearly show that the message sent by the voters by passing Robin Ficker's amendment has fallen on deaf ears.
Let's try something novel and spend less until the budget is balanced. The latest proposal to use speed/red light taxes show that these cameras are not safety devices but are simply revenue generating tools, period. Our county roads have become de facto toll roads.
