I agree with Jack Carson's letter ("End sanctuary city' status," Nov. 5). Security in our country or in our county is not only a responsibility of the police, but it is for everyone.
There is no doubt that immigration officials have information about illegal aliens residing in this country. In reality, police don't have to go too far to learn if someone is illegal or not because every legal person has at least one ID and one Social Security number.
If someone commits a crime, he should be punished according to the law, and in the case of an illegal alien he should be sent back to his original country after he has been punished for his crime.
