County police reports

The following is a summary of incidents in Silver Spring to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Aggravated assault
- On Oct. 29 between 9 p.m. and 9:52 p.m. in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard in Briggs Chaney, the adult male victim was injured by two suspects a man and a woman -- who fled in a black Chevy Impala.
Robbery
- On Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Lockwood Drive in White Oak, a group of four suspects threatened the victim, removed his property and fled on foot.
Attempted armed robbery
- On Oct. 29 at 9:25 p.m. in the 8400 block of Colesville Road, the two armed suspects threatened the victim, who was able to flee on foot.
Armed robbery
- On Oct. 28 at approximately 5 p.m. in the 800 block of Silver Spring Avenue, the suspect threatened the victim and removed property. The suspect fled on foot.
- On Nov. 1 at 6:33 p.m. in the Comfort Inn, 7990 Georgia Ave., four suspects accosted the lone employee and removed property and cash.
- On Oct. 28 between 11 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. in the 12000 block of Bronzegate Place in Colesville, two suspects accosted and robbed the victim. They took property and cash and fled in a black Chevy Impala.
Armed robbery/assault
- On Oct. 31 at approximately 9 p.m. in the area of Leatherwood Terrace and Cedar Tree Drive in Burtonsville, a juvenile male was the victim of an armed robbery and assault by two suspects. Property and cash were taken.
Armed robbery
- On Nov. 2 at 8:45 p.m.in the 1700 block of Mt. Pisgah Lane, an adult female was assaulted and robbed by a suspect who took cash and property then fled on foot.
- On Nov. 2 at 10:25 p.m. in the area of Eisner Street and Edgewood Avenue in Silver Spring. Two suspects attacked and robbed the victim. They took property and fled on foot.
- On Oct. 28 at 11:02 p.m. in the area of Calverton Boulevard and Palermo Drive in Colesville, two suspects beat and robbed the victim. They took property and fled on foot.
Armed robbery/kidnapping
- On Oct. 29 at 9:39 p.m. in the area of 9300 Piney Branch Road, the victim was accosted in his car, taken to a remote location and beaten. The three suspects took property and cash.
Strong-arm robbery/assault
- On Nov. 2 at noon in the 11400 block of Stewart Lane in White Oak, the suspect attacked the victim and removed cash then fled on foot.
Vehicle larceny
- Tenbrook Drive, Saybrook Avenue, Flower Avenue, Walden Road, Saginaw Street, Eccleston Street, Schuyler Road, Pennydog Lane, Sudbury Road, Long Branch Parkway, and Pershing Drive, in the Silver Spring area, between Oct. 28 and Nov. 2. Multiple vehicles targeted. In most cases entry was forced, property taken.
- Hampshire West Court, Snowy Owl Drive, Margate Road, Kinsman View Circle, Glenwild Road, Cottrell Terrace, Dilston Road, East Light Drive, Cottrell Terrace and Mountain Quail Road in the Silver Spring area, between Oct. 26 and Oct. 29. Multiple vehicles targeted. In most cases entry was forced, property taken.
- Sir Thomas Way, Sheffield Manor Terrace, Robey Terrace and Castle Boulevard in the Briggs Chaney area, between Oct. 26 and Oct. 30. Multiple vehicles targeted. In most cases entry was forced, property taken.
Commercial burglary
- Friendly's, 12046 Cherry Hill Road in Colesville, between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 30. No force, cash taken.
Residential burglary
- 500 block of Thayer Avenue, between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 29. Unknown entry, property taken.
- 9700 block of Woodland Drive in Forest Glen, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Entry point known, unknown whether forced, property and cash taken.
- 900 block of Newhall Street, between 7 p.m. Oct. 28 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 29. Forced entry, property taken.
- 8400 block of 8401 Flower Avenue, between 9 a.m. Oct. 26 and 7:37 p.m. Nov. 1. Unknown entry, property taken.
- 2800 block of Lemar Street in Colesville, between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27. No forced entry, property taken.
- 3100 block of Castleleigh Road in Colesville, at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 28. Forced entry, property taken.
- 2700 block of Shanandale Drive in Colesville, between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 and 2 a.m. Oct. 31. Forced entry, nothing taken.
- 600 block of Seaton Square Drive in Colesville, between 10:10 p.m. Oct. 31 and 12:18 a.m. on Nov. 1. Forced entry, property taken.
- 12400 block of Buckley Drive in White Oak, between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 2. Forced entry, property taken.
- 1500 block of Heather Hollow Circle in White Oak, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 2. Forced entry, property taken.
- 3900 block of Blackburn Lane in Fairland, between 4:05 a.m. and 5:39 p.m. Oct. 27. Forced entry, property taken.
- 4200 block of Red Maple Court in Burtonsville, at 11 a.m. Oct. 28. Forced entry, unknown if property taken. The victim interrupted the suspect causing the suspect to flee on foot.
- 13100 block of English Turn Drive, between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Oct. 30. Forced entry, property taken.
- 12900 block of Big Horn Drive, between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Forced entry, property taken.
- 12900 block of Big Horn Drive, between 7:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Oct. 30. Forced entry, property taken.

The following is a summary of incidents in Takoma Park to which police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Robbery
- On Nov. 10 at 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of Takoma Avenue and Buffalo Avenue, the victim was stopped by two suspects while walking. The first suspect pointed a knife at the victim while the second suspect, who had a gun, took the victim's cell phone, Ipod and back pack. The suspects fled on foot. The victim was not hurt. Both subjects were arrested later after committing two additional robberies, one in Silver Spring and one in D.C.
Assault
- On Nov. 11 at 10:22 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue, two patrons in a restaurant became involved in an argument with an employee and then started a fight with another patron. One suspect stabbed the victim and both fled. The victim was treated at the scene for a minor injury.
Larceny from Auto
- Between Nov. 7 at 11 p.m. and Nov. 8 at 11:10 a.m. in the 400 block of Boyd Avenue, a window was broken and property was taken.
Arrests
- On Nov. 7 at 6:12 a.m. in the 7200 block of Carroll Avenue, an adult male was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol.
- On Nov. 8 at 3:33 am in the 8100 block of Lockney Avenue, a male was arrested and charged with burglary and a first-degree assault related to an incident of domestic violence.
- On Nov. 8 at 1:47 a.m., a male juvenile was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property, theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a lilcense and failure to control speed to avoid collision.
- On Nov. 9 at 10:19 p.m. at the intersection of Anne Street and Glenside Drive, an adult male was arrested and charged with false statement to a police officer, driving while suspended, failure to obey traffic control device, failure to display license on demand and failure to display registration on demand.
- On Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue, an adult male was arrested on an open warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of trespassing.
- On Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. in the 7600 block of Piney Branch Road, an adult male was arrested and charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, driving while suspended, failure to display license and leaving the scene of an accident.
