Earl Mackintosh III, chairman of the Frederick Memorial Healthcare System Board of Directors, won the 2008 Hospital Trustee Award from the Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care. The award honors "a hospital trustee whose leadership has inspired the hospital to continuously achieve the highest levels of patient care by aspiring to deliver services that meet the Institute of Medicine's six aims for improvement — health care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable."

Lorna C. Donatone, president of Sodexo's school services division in Gaithersburg, was elected to The Culinary Institute of America Board of Trustees.

L. Dalton Potter, owner and president of Potter Violin Co., in Bethesda, won this year's Traugott Rohner Leadership in the Music Industry Award from the American String Teachers Association.

Lifeclinic International of Burtonsville named Dr. John T. Kelly chief medical officer. Previously, Kelly was chief health and medical officer of Union Pacific Railroad and also worked for Aetna, the American Medical Association and the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic of Bethesda named Marc LeSage vice president of sales. Previously, LeSage was senior vice president, ad sales at IdeaCast Networks.

New Enterprise Associates of Chevy Chase named Hugh Panero a venture partner. Panero co-founded and was CEO of XM Satellite Radio. He also was president and CEO of Request Television and worked for Time Warner Cable of New York City.

Prince George's

Anu A. Esuola, project director of Community Dentistry On Wheels Inc. of Largo, was recognized by the Alliance of Yoruba Organizations and Clubs for her "volunteer efforts in service to humanity, particularly in dental care for the underrepresented and underserved in the Metropolitan Washington, D.C., area."

Gaylord Entertainment Co. of Nashville, Tenn., named Phillip Coffey general manager of the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor in Oxon Hill. Previously, Coffey was general manager of Marriott International's Orlando (Fla.) World Center Resort.
