Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but that doesn't mean the holiday shopping season has to wait. For gifts beyond neckties and perfume, head to the Mansion at Strathmore for the 20th annual Museum Shop Around. Gift shops from 16 area organizations including the Kennedy Center and the Shakespeare Theatre will offer merchandise. The event opens at 10 a.m. all weekend and closes at 6 p.m. tonight and Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday. It will cost you $8 to walk through the door . . . Shopping is only entertainment to some. Silver Spring Stage presents his 2002 hit "The Goat or, Who is Sylvia?" tonight and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The play is not exactly family friendly, as the story follows an architect who falls in love with a goat . . . For something a little more cheerful, try ballet. Tomorrow night, The American Dance Institute unveils its new ADI Chamber Ballet with guest dancers Jared Nelson, Corey Landolt and Rui Huang. They will repeat the performance on Sunday afternoon. It all goes down at the ADI's facility in Rockville . . . Just when you thought it was safe to settle in for a season of stellar fall movies, along comes "2012." Roland Emmerich's epic about the end of the world clocks in at two and a half hours, but you'll want it to end long before the credits start to role. The special effects are nice, but cool computer graphics are in just about every movie these days. If you wish to think at the multiplex, the much talked about opus "Precious" opens as well.
