Take part in the Scouting for Food program
West Laurel | CINDY DOLLAN
You should have received your Scouting for Food collection bag this past weekend. Please take a moment to fill your bag with canned food and leave it on your porch or by the mailbox on Saturday morning. Scouts from our local packs will pick up the bags sometime Saturday. If your bag has not been picked up by 4 p.m. Saturday, please call Amy Brennan at 301-490-7662.

Prince George's County residents are invited to a free e-cycling and document shredding event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at High Point High School, 3601 Powder Mill Road in Beltsville. Residents can bring up to five kitchen trash bags or archive boxes filled with documents to be destroyed. Mobile shredding trucks will make quick work of your confidential documents. Acceptable items for the e-cycling will include personal computers, computer peripherals or components, inkjet and toner cartridges, mainframes, surge protectors, cell phones, laptops, circuit boards, copiers, telephone systems, CD players, fax machines, cable, radios, stereos, printers, scanners, pagers, VCRs and televisions. This event is restricted to non-commercial vehicles weighing less than 3/4 ton. For more information, contact the Department of Environmental Resources at 301-883-5045.
Prince George's County residents are also invited to participate in a special Community Forum sponsored by the EnVision Prince George's project. EnVision Prince George's is an effort sponsored by Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission to develop and implement a vision for our County's future. Attend the meeting from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, University of Maryland College Park. If you are unable to attend Tuesday, there is a similar event from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Showplace Arena in Upper Marlboro on Nov. 19. Small group facilitated discussions will ensure everyone has an opportunity to share views. Wireless keypad voting technology will be used to gather your input. This event is free but space is limited, so please reserve your space at http://envisionprincegeorges.
