Federal Realty Investment Trust of Rockville reported its third-quarter profit fell to $28.8 million from $38.4 in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $131 million from $131.7 million. Funds from operations fell to $55.7 million from $58.2 million.
Private equity company American Capital of Bethesda reported a third-quarter profit of $77 million, versus a net loss of $548 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $193 million from $278 million.
Sinclair Broadcast Group of Hunt Valley reported its third-quarter profit grew to $16.1 million from $9.2 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $160.1 million from $178.2 million.
Discovery Communications of Silver Spring reported its third-quarter profit fell to $101 million from $174 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $854 million from $845 million.
Pharmacy benefit manager Catalyst Health Solutions of Rockville reported its third-quarter profit rose to $17.2 million from $12.6 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues grew to $725.6 million from $653 million.
Hughes Communications of Germantown reported a third-quarter net loss of $2.6 million, versus a profit of $3.2 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $251.4 million from $271.8 million.
Media company Radio One of Lanham reported a third-quarter profit of $14.2 million, versus a net loss of $266.1 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $75.5 million from $86.2 million.
Human Genome Sciences of Rockville reported a third-quarter net loss of $49.0 million, compared with a net loss of $74.2 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $18.8 million from $11.7 million.
Medical insurer Coventry Health Care of Bethesda reported its third-quarter profit fell to $70.6 million from $85.5 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $3.44 billion from $2.93 billion.
Constellation Energy of Baltimore reported a third-quarter profit of $167.4 million, versus a net loss of $222.1 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $4.03 billion from $5.32 billion.
First Potomac Realty Trust of Bethesda reported its third-quarter profit grew to $624,000 from $332,000 in the prior-year quarter. Revenues grew to $32.9 million from $31.1 million. Funds from operations rose to $10.7 million from $9.4 million.
Micros Systems of Columbia, which provides information systems to the hospitality and retail industries, reported its profit for the quarter ended Sept. 30 fell to $25.0 million from $25.3 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $212.5 million from $244.1 million.
First Mariner Bancorp of Baltimore, parent of First Mariner Bank, reported a third-quarter net loss of $13 million, versus a net loss of $2.3 million in the prior-year quarter. The latest results include $3.8 million in credit-related charges to earnings, including a $2.1 million provision for loan losses; $1.7 million in expenses related to foreclosed properties; and a one-time charge of $10.6 million related to the planned sale in the fourth quarter of Mariner Finance.
Vanda Pharmaceuticals of Rockville reported a third-quarter net loss of $7.7 million, compared with a net loss of $10.9 million in the prior-year quarter. No revenues were reported in either quarter.
Commercial lender CapitalSource of Chevy Chase reported a third-quarter net loss of $274 million, versus a profit of $14 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $241.1 million from $332.1 million.
USEC Inc. of Bethesda, which provides fuel for nuclear power plants, reported a third-quarter net loss of $6.2 million, versus a profit of $8.4 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $549.3 million from $590.4 million. USEC also said it has retained a financial adviser to explore its options, including a sale of the company.
Annapolis Bancorp of Annapolis, parent of BankAnnapolis, reported its third-quarter profit fell to $223,000 from $299,000 in the prior-year quarter. Assets at Sept. 30 totaled $445.5 million, up from $394.9 million Dec. 31.
Osiris Therapeutics of Columbia reported a third-quarter net loss of $6.2 million, versus a profit of $5.3 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $10.6 million from $1 million.
Carrollton Bancorp of Baltimore, parent of Carrollton Bank, reported a third-quarter net loss of $594,000, versus a profit of $51,000 in the prior-year quarter. Assets at Sept. 30 totaled $430.1 million, up $25.5 million, or 6.3 percent, from a year earlier.
Dialysis Corporation of America of Linthicum reported its third-quarter profit grew to $940,000 from $875,000 in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $25.1 million from $21.9 million.
FTI Consulting of Baltimore reported its third-quarter profit grew to $37.6 million from $26.4 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $348.6 million from $325.5 million.
Emergent BioSolutions of Rockville reported a third-quarter net loss of $539,000, versus a profit of $10.0 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $43.3 million from $56.6 million.
Nabi Biopharmaceuticals of Rockville reported a third-quarter net loss of $7.0 million, compared with a net loss of $3.0 million in the prior-year quarter. No revenues were reported in either quarter.
