Area seniors are invited to attend a series of events called "Coffee for Seniors," the first of which is at 1 p.m. today. Attendees will be able to speak with a Dist. 6 police officer and learn safety tips and updates on the latest scams. Officers would also like to hear from you about what is going on in your neighborhood.
Today's event will be held at the Starbucks located at Contee Road and Route 1. Even if you cannot attend today, please contact jwbeasock@co.pg.md.us if you're interested in future events. Please note: each attendee will be responsible for paying for his/her own coffee.
Feeling cheesy?
Parents, mark your calendars for the PTO Fundraiser at Chuck E. Cheese at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Each child attending will receive 10 free tokens and teachers will get a free meal by showing their ID. The Bond Mill PTO will receive 15 percent of the evening's proceeds. Coupons for more savings are available on the Chuck E. Cheese Web site at http://www.chuckecheese.com/coupons/.
Giving a little can help a lot
The annual Scouting for Food collection will take place Nov. 14. This program aims to address hunger in the community and is organized by local Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers. Scouts from our local packs will tie bags to your mailbox Saturday. Fill your bag with canned food on Nov. 14, when scouts will return to collect the bags. If your bag has not been picked up by 4 p.m., please call Amy Brennan at 301-490-7662, and she will arrange pick-up.
