At around 11 p.m., the man and two 21-year-old men were walking at the Largo Town Center between Shoppers Food Warehouse and Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits, near the intersection of Largo Center Drive and Zachery Street, when someone drove by in a tan-colored van and began shooting, said Officer Henry Tippett, a Prince George's County police spokesman.
The 22-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was struck in the leg, Tippett said. He was treated at an area hospital.
The two other men, whose names have not been released, were not injured, police said.
The men were unable to get a description of the suspect or the van's make or model, or confirm the number of people in the van.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation, Tippett said.
