Wise and Oxon Hill both are 6-3, while DuVal slipped to 5-4 on Saturday. Roosevelt, Charles H. Flowers and Suitland are secure in the top three spots in the 4A South, leaving one playoff berth available, which will go to the Wise-Oxon Hill winner.
Anthony Wright, the county's leading rusher, carried 15 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns for Wise against DuVal on Saturday. Derron Tapp ran for 27 yards and a touchdown and Deandre Smith completed 3 of 9 passes for 33 yards, including a touchdown pass to Rahsaan Moore. Tapp and Lumbus Burrell both scored two-point conversions.
Oxon Hill 46, Parkdale 6 The Clippers took command early, scoring four touchdowns in the first quarter, as they won to set up next week's showdown against Wise.
Running back Leo Gordon carried 20 times for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Malik Cross completed 9 of 18 passes for 158 yards, including a touchdown pass to Patrick Jones. Receiver Jason Howard burned the Parkdale defense for 115 yards on four catches.
Oxon Hill did the job on defense and special teams as well. Denzel Prince had eight tackles, including two sacks, and he forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and blocked two punts. Greg Roberson also had eight tackles and added a fumble recovery and an interception. Bryan Lane had two interceptions and Julian Davis forced two fumbles.
Roosevelt 46, Bowie 6
The Raiders blew the game open with four second-quarter touchdowns, three of which were scored by Derrick Thomas. Meanwhile, quarterback Mike Thomas completed 8 of 13 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns, and also ran for a TD.
After Tyrone General started Roosevelt's second-quarter outburst with a one-yard touchdown run, Mike Thomas hit Derrick Thomas on TD passes of 30 and 3 yards. Derrick Thomas then returned an interception 95 yards for another score.
Richard Aiyegoro started the scoring for Roosevelt as he caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Mike Thomas in the first quarter. In the third quarter, the Roosevelt quarterback tossed a 50-yard scoring strike to Tristan Youngblood and had an eight-yard touchdown run. Chris Graves led the Raiders' defense with seven tackles, and Isaiah Ross added five tackles and an interception.
Roosevelt (9-0) will look to wrap up a perfect regular season next weekend as it plays host to Laurel.
Northwestern 22, Laurel 0
After going for more than 100 yards without a touchdown in his debut at running back last week, Northwestern's Deandre Cador found the end zone Saturday against Laurel. The senior scored on a 12-yard run in the first quarter. The Wildcats also got a two-yard touchdown run from Anthony Lansdowne and a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown by Brian Asante.
DeAnte Love carried nine times for 76 yards for Laurel and also caught two passes for 29 yards. Northwestern improved to 4-5 with the win, its second in a row. Laurel dropped to 2-7.
County 3A/2A/1A League
Central 40, Fairmont Heights 0
The Falcons (5-4) assured themselves of their first .500 season since 2000 by taking command against Fairmont Heights in the third quarter.
Central led 7-0 at halftime after Demetrius Davis had a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Denzel Washington returned the opening kickoff of the second half 76 yards for a touchdown. Later in the third period, the Falcons scored twice in the span of a little more than a minute. Alphonzo Johnson had a six-yard touchdown run with 5:43 left to play in the third quarter. And with 4:35 to go in the quarter, Richard Pearson caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Davis. In the fourth quarter, Marcus Harding had an 11-yard touchdown run and Tyrone Rushing closed the scoring with a 72-yard punt return for a TD.
Pearson led the defense with nine tackles. James Hall had seven tackles, including three sacks, and Cardell Shields had an interception for Central, which will finish its season at Friendly next Friday. Fairmont Heights (0-9), which has scored just six points this season, will end a difficult campaign next Saturday at Forestville.
Largo 35, Surrattsville 21
The Lions jumped out to a 21-6 lead against visiting Surrattsville and made it hold up. It was the Lions' fifth win in six weeks, and the team improved to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in league play. The loss dropped the Hornets to 2-7, 1-6.
Dondra Hunt-Owens had a big day on the ground for Largo, picking up 169 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries. He scored on runs of 66 and 59 yards. Thomas Dixon added 51 yards on five carries.
Quarterback Daquan Markham was 8 of 15 through the air, for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Dixon was his top target with three catches for 35 yards. Dennis Wolley had a 45-yard touchdown catch.
Rumeal Stephens led the Largo defense with 12 tackles.
Joseph Rollins Jr. and quarterback Andre Williams led the Hornets with 129 combined rushing yards and three touchdowns. Williams also completed 7 of 13 passes for 53 yards.
On defense, Solomon Steele recorded two sacks and Jordan Scott had a team-high five tackles. Chavous Nelson and Dwayne Winslow each had four tackles and Jacob Williams had three tackles. Andre Williams also picked up an interception.
Largo extended its lead to 28-14 at halftime. Each team scored a touchdown in the second half. Both teams will wrap up their seasons next week as Surrattsville plays host to Crossland and Largo visits Potomac.
Forestville 14, Crossland 0
Knights' quarterback Caleb Gaines tossed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Belt in the first quarter and threw 15 yards for a score to Ricardo Smith in the second quarter. Forestville improved to 4-5. Justin Foster had eight carries for 108 yards for the Cavaliers, who fell to 2-7.

DeMatha 34, St. John's 6
The Stags and Cadets will see one another again in two weeks in the first round of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference playoffs. DeMatha improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the league as Marcus Coker carried 21 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Tom Chroniger ran for 41 yards and a touchdown.
DeMatha held a 13-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter after Charles Brown ran 20 yards for a St. John's touchdown in the third quarter. But the Stags reached the end zone three times in the final period on touchdown runs by Delonte Morton and Coker and an interception return by Emmanuel McPhearson.
The Stags end the regular season next Friday as they take on county WCAC rival Bishop McNamara at the Sports & Learning Complex in Landover.
