Catoctin Mountain Park fall activities

The following interpretive programs are scheduled for the fall season at Catoctin Mountain Park:

Orienteering (Map and Compass Reading) will begin at 1 p.m. Nov 12 and 19 at the Visitor Center. Orienteering classes included an outdoor slide program as well as allowing users to determine direction using compass skills to master a short outdoors course. This program is free but class size is limited, reservations are required.

Catoctin Mountain Park 70th Anniversary Celebration will take place at 11 a.m. Nov 14 at the Visitor Center. Catoctin High School will display art and birthday cake will be available.

Owens Creek Campground is open on first-come, first-serve basis for family camping through Nov 19. Each site is limited to one camping unit and a maximum of 5 people. Fees are set at $20 per night.

Camp Misty Mount is currently renting cabins through Oct 31. Rustic chestnut cabins are available to individuals, families or groups. Call the Misty Mount office at 301-271-3140 to make reservations.
