Superintendent Jerry D. Weast’s proposed $1.17 billion, six-year construction budget recommends that the following projects receive funding in fiscal 2007, which begins July 1:

New school construction*

*Thirty gymnasiums for all existing, new or reopened elementary schools without one: $31.7 million over six years ($8.7 million for fiscal 2007).

*Clarksburg Area High — $17.7 million in fiscal 2007 ($51.7 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Clarksburg⁄Damascus Elementary No. 7 — $4.8 million in fiscal 2007 ($17.8 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Clarksburg⁄Damascus Elementary No. 8 — $748,000 in fiscal 2007 ($22.2 million total cost), to be completed in August 2009.

*Northeast Consortium Elementary No. 16 (reopening of former Brookview Elementary) — $5.8 million in fiscal 2007 ($20.3 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Downcounty Consortium Elementary No. 27 (reopening of former Connecticut Park Center) — $16.9 million total cost, to be completed in August.

*Downcounty Consortium Elementary No. 28 (reopening of former Arcola Elementary) — $15.2 million total cost, to be completed in August 2007.

*Northwest Elementary No. 7 — $5.4 million in fiscal 2007 ($19.2 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Seven Locks Elementary replacement — $7.4 million in fiscal 2007 ($14 million total cost), to be completed in August 2007.

Modernizations

*Richard Montgomery High — building to be completed in August 2007 with site completed a year later.

*Walter Johnson High — $39.6 million total cost; to be completed in August 2009.

*Paint Branch High — $52.3 million total cost, to be completed in August 2010.

*Gaithersburg High — $52.4 million total cost, to be completed in August 2012.

*Parkland Middle — to be completed in August 2007.

*Francis Scott Key Middle — $30.3 million total cost, to be completed in August 2009.

*Cabin John Middle — $28.1 million total cost, to be completed in August 2011.

*College Gardens Elementary — $14.3 million total cost, to be completed in January 2008.

*Cashell Elementary — $13.4 million total cost, to be completed in August 2009.

*Galway Elementary — $13.8 million total cost, to be completed in January 2009.

*Cresthaven Elementary — $13.6 million total cost, to be completed in August 2010.

*Carderock Springs Elementary — $13.5 million total cost, to be completed in August 2010.

*Bells Mill Elementary — $13.9 million total cost, to be completed in August 2010.

*Cannon Road Elementary — $13 million total cost, to be completed in January 2012.

*Garrett Park Elementary — $13.2 million total cost, to be completed in January 2012.

*Farmland Elementary — $13.3 million total cost, to be completed in August 2011.

Additions

*Ashburton Elementary — $434,000 for planning and construction in fiscal 2007 ($7.4 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Bethesda-Chevy Chase High — $150,000 for planning in fiscal 2007 ($1.8 million total cost), to be completed in August 2009.

*Broad Acres Elementary — $3 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($8.3 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Fallsmead Elementary — $617,000 for planning and construction in 2007 ($10.9 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Farmland Elementary — $1.8 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($6.2 million total cost), to be completed in the 2006-2007 school year.

*Fields Road Elementary — $3.2 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($11.4 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Gaithersburg Elementary — $2.4 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($9.4 million total cost), to be completed in 2005-2006 school year.

*Gaithersburg High — $3.6 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($10.3 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Garrett Park Elementary — $1.2 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($4.5 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Luxmanor Elementary — $691,000 for planning and construction in fiscal 2007 ($11.6 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Northwest High — $6.1 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($15.7 million total cost), to be completed in August.

*Thomas S. Pyle Middle — $323,000 for planning in fiscal 2007 ($7.8 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Sherwood High — $9.4 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($14.7 million total cost), to be completed in August 2007.

*Sligo Creek Elementary (and Silver Spring International Middle modifications) — $1.2 million for planning in fiscal 2007 ($2 million total cost), completion date to be determined

*South Lake Elementary — $1.9 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($6.8 million total cost), to be completed in 2005-2006 school year.

*Stedwick Elementary — $603,000 for planning and construction in fiscal 2007 ($10.5 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Travilah Elementary — $456,000 for planning in fiscal 2007 ($7.7 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Washington Grove Elementary — $785,000 for planning and construction in fiscal 2007 ($13.9 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Watkins Mill Elementary — $3.4 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($9.5 million total cost), to be completed in the 2006-2007 school year.

*Wayside Elementary — $454,000 for planning and construction in fiscal 2007 ($7.7 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.

*Weller Road Elementary — $5.7 million for construction in fiscal 2007 ($8.8 million total cost), to be completed in the 2007-2008 school year.

*Westland Middle — $332,000 for planning in fiscal 2007 ($5.2 million total cost), to be completed in August 2008.
