Bowie teen arrested in BB-gun shooting

A 17-year-old Bowie high school student was arrested for his alleged involvement in a drive-by shooting with a BB gun of a man who was riding his bike Oct. 20, police said.

Bowie police arrested Grafton J. McNair, 17, on Oct. 25 and he was charged with first degree assault, second degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, according to a police report.

McNair was being held on $35,000 bond, the police report said.

On Oct. 20, Eric A. Nussbaumer, 30, of College Park was riding his bike on the bike trail at Old Collington Road and Holiday Lane in Bowie, when a gold Chevy Impala drove by and the driver shot the man in the lower left leg, according to the report.

McNair is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 2, according to court records.
