Aubrey Elmer Fleming, 98, of Poplar Springs, Mount Airy died Oct. 20, 2009 at Heartfield Assisted Living, Frederick. He was married for 63 years to Clara Buxton Fleming when she died in 1995. He was the son of the late J. Elmer and Laura Pickett Fleming, also of Polar Springs. His mother's father's and wife's deaths occurred in late October, just as his did.

Mr. Fleming was a graduate of Lisbon High School. He became a carpenter during The Depression and began a farming career in 1933.

He is survived by four children, Donald E. Fleming and wife Shirley Welsh of Mount Airy, Mildred I. Myers of Taneytown, A. Thomas Fleming and Janette M. Knill and husband Charles Gordon Jr., all of Poplar Springs; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Family received friends Oct. 25 at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, Damascus. Funeral services were held Monday at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church.
