Gazette's choices are short-sighted
|
As usual, The Gazette's choices for elected office, an outsider for mayor and an entirely new Board of Aldermen, are a bit short-sighted ("Judd for mayor," Oct. 22).
I agree that some new blood is needed. Kelly Russell would be an intelligent, knowledgeable breath of fresh air. Her background of working with citizens, respect for the law, and love for Frederick would complement any elected office.
The Gazette fell short by not supporting incumbent Donna Kuzemchak's desire to continue serving on the Board of Aldermen. The board cannot have all new members in this election. This Board must hit the ground running, and not spend an eternity learning the process. There are too many problems plaguing the city.
Donna is an experienced leader, and the only sitting board member who supports residents 100 percent of the time. We need her leadership.
The most important task is to vote. If you don't vote, you do not have the right to express an opinion on the outcome.
