An armed man robbed a Hyattsville bank Tuesday morning, according to Hyattsville police.
Police said the man entered the BB&T Bank in the 3500 block of Hamilton Street at about 10:30 a.m. with a small handgun and demanded money. The robber struck a bank employee, who suffered minor injuries, and then slipped his arm through a gap in the teller's safety glass and pointed the gun at her, according to Hyattsville police spokesman Sgt. Greg Phillips.
The teller handed the man "an undetermined amount of money," Phillips wrote in an e-mail. The robber then ran outside and toward an apartment complex behind the bank, police said.
Anyone with information is being asked to call Hyattsville City Police at 301-985-5060.
