New restaurants
opening in county
Several new restaurants are opening in Frederick County, including the following:
-Mexican restaurant El Ranchero is now open in Evergreen Square Shopping Center on Buckeystown Pike in Frederick, taking over the space formerly occupied by El Paso restaurant.
-Cameron's Seafood plans to open in Evergreen Square Shopping Center next week.
-The Home at Braddock Inn is open on Schley Avenue in Braddock Heights, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner in the historic inn.
-Ledo Pizza has opened a pizzeria on Worthington Boulevard in Urbana.
Frederick imaging company
expands in Michigan
The Crowley Co. of Frederick plans to expand its imaging services department by opening a 32,000-square-foot digital and analog conversion facility in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The new facility follows a multiyear agreement between Crowley and NA Publishing of Ann Arbor for Crowley to exclusively perform microfilm and microform services for periodicals on behalf of NA Publishing, according to company information.
The expansion includes the transfer of 40 NA Publishing employees to the new facility.
Real estate group
to hold panel discussion
The Maryland/DC Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, will hold a panel discussion from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick.
Developments at Fort Detrick and other issues will be discussed by Col. Judith D. Robinson, commander of the Army Garrison at Fort Detrick; Laurie Boyer, director of the Frederick County Office of Economic Development; and Timothy McShea, president and CEO of McShea & Co.

Physician to discuss
national insurance system
The Frederick Business and Professional Women's Club will host a presentation by Margaret Flowers, co-chairwoman of the Maryland Chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program. Flowers will discuss insurance reform and why she believes most physicians support a national system.
The talk, at 6 p.m. Nov. 17, will be at Homewood at Crumland Farms, Willow Road, Frederick.

M&T Bank opens
full-service branch
M&T Bank opened a full-service branch this week on Routzahns Way in Frederick, according to a company statement.
Among its services is a financial consultant to help customers handle investment and insurance needs.
Love & Company
promotes Pearre
Frederick marketing and public relations firm Love & Company recently promoted Lisa Pearre to vice president of client services. Pearre, of Jefferson, is one of the firm's principles and a member of its senior management team.
Pearre has been at Love since 2003. She is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Frederick.
Plastic surgeon
joins Frederick spa
City Magnolia Day Spa in Frederick has hired plastic surgeon Marwan Khalifeh to provide surgery consultations and injected treatments, according to spa information.
Khalifeh is a double-board certified plastic surgeon and graduate of Pennsylvania University and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Khalifeh is also co-founder of Ivy Plastic Surgery Associates in Chevy Chase.
