Sign up for bowl-a-thon
People and Places | Patricia M. murret
Hospice Caring Inc. will host its 15th Annual Hospice Caring Bowl-A-Thon at noon Saturday at Bowl America, 1101 Clopper Road. Since 1989, Hospice Caring Inc. has been providing support to adults and children facing life-limiting illness and grief.
The nonprofit's annual Bowl-A-Thon combines entertainment, food and fun as families, friends, and co-workers join to bowl for charity.
Here's the challenge: Find a team of 3-4 members and start thinking of a fun costume to wear. Each team member seeks pledges and records them on a pledge sheet.
Proceeds go to Hospice Caring to help provide, at no charge, practical and emotional support to adults and children who are facing life-threatening illness or grieving the death of a loved one, said spokesman Matt Gearhart.
For more information and pledge sheets, call 301-869-HOPE (4673) or call Lynne McVeigh at 623-433-9921. Or download and print brochures and pledge sheets from the nonprofit's Web site, www.hospicecaring.org.
