The following is a summary of incidents in Silver Spring to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Armed robbery
- On Oct. 6 at 1:19 a.m. in the 100 block of Quebec Street in Silver Spring, the suspects brandished a weapon, threatened the adult male victim, and forcibly took cash. The suspects fled on foot.
- On Oct. 12 at approximately 10 p.m. in the area of Treetop View Terrace and Old Columbia Pike in Fairland, three suspects threatened the adult male victim with a handgun and removed property. The suspects fled on foot.
- On Oct. 13 at midnight in a parking lot in the 11300 block of Lockwood Drive in White Oak, three suspects threatened the adult male victim with a handgun and removed property. The suspects fled on foot.
Bank robbery
- On Oct. 5 at 3:42 p.m.at The Eagle Bank, 8665 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, the suspect entered the bank, announced the robbery and obtained cash. After the 28-year-old male suspect left the bank, he was located and arrested without incident.
Strong-arm robbery
- On Oct. 6 at 4:15 p.m. in the area of Colesville Road and Fenton Street in Silver Spring, the suspects forcibly took property from the male juvenile victim and fled on foot.
- On Oct. 9 at 9:57 p.m. in the area of Colesville Road and Leighton Avenue in Silver Spring, the suspect forcibly took property and physically assaulted the adult female victim who then fled on foot.
Residential burglary
- 10100 block of Dallas Avenue in Silver Spring, between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 6. Attempted forced entry, nothing taken.
- 12400 block of Herrington Manor Drive in Colesville, between 8:25 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 7. Forced entry, property taken.
- 800 block of Arrington Drive in White Oak, between 6 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 9. Attempt only, nothing taken.
- 4100 block of Sandy Spring Road in Burtonsville, between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 8. A witness observed the suspect fleeing in a green pickup truck. Unknown what, if anything taken.
