Chesapeake Systems Inc. of Baltimore won $43,010 from the Navy to configure and install a video production upgrade.

Comptech Corp. of Rockville won $26,426 from the Defense Logistics Agency for a mechanical drive housing.

Custis Engine & Equipment Inc. of Baltimore won $123,675 from the Department of Homeland Security for on-site generator preventive maintenance services.

Lockheed Martin Corp. of Baltimore won $40,749 from the Navy for miscellaneous items.

Machining Technologies Inc. of Salisbury won $261,000 and $357,976 from the Army for guns.

Marine Air Supply Co. Inc. of Frederick won $43,199 from the Defense Logistics Agency for indicator light assemblies.

Medical Numerics Inc. of Germantown won $500,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services for MedX maintenance support.

P&D Creative Co. Inc. of Hagerstown won $31,570 from the Defense Logistics Agency for isopropyl alcohol.

Phoenix Trading Inc. of Rockville won $56,050 from the Defense Logistics Agency for storage batteries.

Sauer Compressors of Stevensville won $1.39 million from the Navy for air compressor systems.

Vet Solutions LLC of Gaithersburg won $4.54 million from the Department of Veterans Affairs to replace telephone systems in New City, Castle Point, Carmel and New City, Pa.

Washington Professional Systems of Wheaton won $544,810 from the Department of Defense for communication, detection and coherent radiation equipment.

Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. of Baltimore won $9.17 million from the Department of Veterans Affairs to build structures and facilities.

Zodiac of North America of Stevensville won $89,100 from the Navy for ships, small craft, pontoons and floating docks.

AceComm Corp. of Gaithersburg won two, one-year contracts with the Department of Defense totaling $700,000 to continue supporting telecommunications systems in Europe, Asia and North America.

Bozzuto Landscaping Co. of Laurel opened a 10-employee office in Richmond, Va., to support its recent long-term contract for 1,000 military housing units at Fort Lee and expand services as the base builds additional housing.

Merkle Inc. of Lanham was selected by Internet telephone company Vonage to provide its direct marketing system.

Grove Resource Systems Inc. of Frederick was selected by the Army Medical Material Agencies at Fort Detrick to provide information technology, engineering and logistics support.

Group 1 Software Inc. of Lanham was selected by Thomas Cook AG to provide its customer communications management system to deliver personalized travel booklets to its tourism customers.

Clean Currents LLC of Rockville was selected by the private Bullis School of Potomac to broker its switch to 50 percent wind-generated electricity.

Constellation NewEnergy, a subsidiary of Constellation Energy of Baltimore, was selected by HMSHost Corp. of Bethesda to provide 6 million kilowatt hours of Green-e certified renewable energy credits to match half of the electricity used at HMSHost’s three travel plazas on Interstate 95 in Delaware and Maryland. The credits will directly support generating electricity with wind.

Micros Systems Inc. of Columbia was selected to provide information technology systems for Twin River casino in Lincoln, R.I.

BroadSoft Inc. of Gaithersburg was selected by Etisalat of United Arab Emirates to provide its Internet telephone software.

Optelecom-NKF of Germantown announced that its application to upgrade its listing to the Nasdaq Global Market was approved.

Maven Strategies of Lanham was selected by NBA star LeBron James to launch the LeBron James Experience, a seven-month, 25-city tour designed to give fans a chance to meet him after games.

PROPERTY

Federal Realty Investment Trust of Rockville sold two retail buildings in Queens, N.Y., generating net proceeds of $32 million and a book gain of $15.3 million. Retail tenants include Duane Reade, Staples and Gap.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. of Chevy Chase, along with Cottonwood Properties and Greenbrier Southwest Corp., plans to open in 2009 The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, a 250-room golf and spa resort, along with single-family residences, in the Sonoran Desert town of Marana, Ariz., northwest of Tucson.
