Damascus man dies in car crashA Damascus man was killed and another man was injured Sunday night after the car in which they were traveling hit a retaining wall in Burtonsville, Montgomery County Police said. Brian Christopher McKay, 35, died of his injuries after being taken to Laurel Regional Hospital, police said. John Stephen Howell, 35, of New Market is in stable condition at Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Trauma Unit, police said. Howell was driving McKay in a silver 2006 Mercedes-Benz northbound on Old Columbia Pike toward the traffic circle at Dustin Road when he lost control of the car 5:18 p.m. and struck the wall, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said. Anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to call 301-840-2435.
