Dory Halati of Bethesda talks about the Omid Foundation which provides assistance and education to vulnerable women in Iran, ages 15-25, who have been raped, abused and ostracized by society. The foundation molds them into productive citizens able to support themselves and heal emotionally. Halati runs the United States branch of the Omid Foundation, begun by her sister Marjeneh, out of her home.
