The Under-16 Heartbreakers Black won the Fall Shoot-Out PONY softball tournament this past weekend held in Williamsport.
The champs went 4-2 for the entire weekend, winning all three of their games on Championship Sunday. On the pivotal day, they blanked the River City Rippers 5-0, the Summit Storm 7-0 and downed the West Virginia Shockers 7-2, in the title game.
For the weekend, Thomas Johnson High player Alex Parker, won three games as pitcher, recording 18 strikeouts in the process. Parker also collected four hits offensively with two triples and three runs driven in.
Nikki Warnert (Walkersville) belted out six hits and drove in three runs. Carly Farr, (Catoctin) had four hits and an RBI. Rachel Young (Walkersville) had a hit and an RBI and The Heartbreakers coached by Brad Young and Vaughn Parker.
Sugar Markward's two touchdown runs helped FYSA Junior varsity A squad shut out FSK 21-0 in Monocacy Valley Football League action last weekend.
Spencer Mott picked off a pass on defense, while Brennan Stup and Spencer Mott also stood out defensively.
The Titans also scored on Mike Zimmer 45 yard scoring pass to Jacoby Lott. Standout offensive linemen included Brandon Lavern, Blake Smith, James Perret and Kyle King. Running back Brison Hopper helped to aid the Titans' ground game.
The FYSA Titans JV B Squad won its first game Saturday 14-0 against FSK.
Clyde Morgan and Kahari Kilgore scored a touchdown each, as Kilgore's covered 65 yards. Morgan also scored on a conversion run.
Luke Allen anchored FYSA's offensive line. Defensively, the winners were led by Marshal Kayden, who grabbed three interceptions, as well as Charles DeHaven, Etan Wall, Rudy Federline, Kenneth McDonnell, Osman Saucedo, Jeremiah Laird William Sinton, Tristan Strickland, David Pickens and Austin Helmick.
The North All-Stars defeated the South 34-27 in the recent inaugural BCWB We Are All All-Stars competition.
Ryan Woodyard's eight points led the North, while Emmanuel Apea and Jerome Love tossed in five points apiece.
Patrick Davis scored eight points for the South, while Demontrez Goines added five.
In the Junior East-West game, the West edged out the East, 23-18, as Sean Caravaggio led the way for the winners with10 points. Seth Myers rung up six for the West. Michael Lango's six led the East.
In the Senior East-West matchup Demetris Bryant lit up the West with 39 points in a 69-61 victory. Noah Sheppard enjoyed a great overall performance with 17 points. Blake Sheppard's 13 points led the West, while Ozzie Burns added 11.
