Quince Orchard High plans homeless walkQuince Orchard High School will walk with pride on Friday during a Help-the-Homeless Walk-a-Thon that will be part of the school’s Homecoming Parade from 3:45-4:15 p.m. The walk-a-thon will raise money for the Dwelling Place and Gaithersburg Help, two organizations that help the homeless and needy. It costs $15 for youth and $25 for adults to walk and get a walk T-shirt. The more, the merrier, too: the class with the most participants will receive $100 from the school’s Student Government Association. Registration forms are on the school’s Web site, www.qohs.org and can be returned the day of the walk. Those under 18 need a parent signature. The walk will start at the school’s front and main parking lots. Walkers will precede class floats in the parade, which has a Classic Cartoons theme, and floats designed around the Smurfs, Looney Tunes, the Flintstones and Scooby Doo.
