Welcome to The Gazette's annual guide to Montgomery County.
Need to know who your elected officials are? Wondering where to call if your recycling isn't picked up? Or maybe you're just looking for a new church or a sports team for your youngster. This guide is designed to help you find out about all the services and resources that we in Montgomery County can take advantage of throughout the year.
We've stuffed this guide with information on the county and each of the communities we cover. So if you're living in Gaithersburg or Bethesda or Rockville, to name just a few of our community editions, we have the lowdown on who's who and what's where. Even in communities where we do not have Gazettes, we've tried to include some information. We've included lists of key institutions from schools to libraries to parks to places of worship.
All of which gives us an opportunity to explain how The Gazette works. We print newspapers each week in communities in Montgomery County and cover what's happening in your county, your town, your city and sometimes your neighborhood. We tell you how your child's sports team is doing, what the schools are planning, where the movies are, how business is faring and let people know about your celebrations — weddings, anniversaries, accomplishments.
It's easy to get a news item in The Gazette. Send it to us by mail, by e-mail, by telephone, by fax or just drop it by our main office in Gaithersburg.
On page 7 are some key names and numbers to help you. And don't forget to check our Web site at www.gazette.net.
Note to readers
Because Montgomery is so large (there are almost 1 million of us living here), we may have overlooked something you need. In some cases, due to space, we have omitted some information. If you can't find certain information or see an error, send us an e-mail at editor@gazette.net or mail the information to Community Guide, 9030 Comprint Court, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
