Chevy Chase View is an incorporated town of about 300 homes and a population of 863 residents in the Kensington Zip code. Its boundaries include portions of Cedar Lane and Summit Avenue, Connecticut Avenue extending from Saul Road to Franklin Street, and Everett Street as it dead-ends into Kensington Parkway. A five-member council governs the town. Town Council members as of May's election are Mike Plantamura, Martie Mitchell, Peter Roman, Coral Bell and Lulu Gonella. Town meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month at Christ Episcopal Church, 4001 Franklin St., Kensington.

Chevy Chase Village has 3,000 residents and its boundaries are Western Avenue, Wisconsin Avenue and Bradley Lane. A seven-member Board of Managers governs the village, including Chairman Douglas Kamerow, David L. Winstead, Susie Eig, Gail S. Feldman, Betsy Stephens, Peter M. Yeo and Robert L. Jones. The board meets the second Monday of every month at the Village Hall.
Drummond

In this special taxing area of 43 homes along Drummond Avenue, sooner or later everyone has a turn to be mayor. A three-member Town Council maintains the trees and streetscape, sidewalks, snow removal and most other issues that crop up.

Commercial development is the high-rise Village of Friendship Heights. New restaurants and luxury retail stores have added to the growing number of dining and shopping options within walking distance of the 4,500 residents who live in the special tax district. A seven-member council elected to two-year terms governs the village. Council meetings are held monthly at the Village Hall, which is also the setting for regular community activities and legendary guest speakers. Current council members include Mayor Melanie Rose White, Maurice Trebach, Elizabeth Demetra Harris, Alvan M. Morris, Robert M. Schwarzbart, Leonard E. "Chip" Mudd and Leonard Grant.
Martin's Additions

Recognized as a "Tree City" by the National Arbor Day Foundation, the Village of Martin's Additions maintains all streets, sidewalks and trees in the village. The village has more than 300 homes, a five-member village council and is bounded by Brookville Road, Summit Avenue, Thornapple Street and Quincy Street.

The town in 2008 passed Montgomery County's first municipal building regulations. The town's northern and southern boundaries are East-West Highway and Bradley Lane.
