The nonprofit Land and Nature Discoveries Inc. has announced the fall schedule for its school-based landscape and nature clubs.
Students can learn about agriculture and the environment, help with plantings, enhance and maintain gardens as and go on nature walks in the five-week sessions, according to the group's Web site, www.landandnature.org. The club meets once a week, costs $25 and is open to students in grades two through five.
The club at Monocacy Elementary School in Dickerson began Sept. 9 and is full. Poolesville Elementary School's club began Sept. 10 and the session at Mary of Nazareth Catholic School in Germantown began Sept. 15. To register, contact LAND at 301-972-7266 or garth@landandnature.org.

LAND is also looking for 15 high school or middle school volunteers to help dig up and separate flower bulbs from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 21. Rain date is 4-6 p.m. Sept. 25.
The nonprofit is selling bags of five daffodil bulbs and one daylily for a donation of $5. Half of the money will go to the Upper Montgomery Rotary Club for Rotary International's PolioPlus campaign and the other half will be divided among the Monocacy Elementary School PTA, the Poolesville Elementary School PTA and The Barnesville School's eighth grade fund.

To order the bags or donate additional funds to the organizations, visit www.landandnature.org/plants. The bags can be picked up at the Rotary Club's meeting at Café Mileto in Germantown, 18056 Mateny Road, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 or at any of the three schools from Oct. 1-4.
Basket bingo at NWHS
Get ready for a night of fun, raffles and bingo to benefit the Northwest High School choral department.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Oct. 11 for basket bingo at the school, 13501 Richter Farm Road, Germantown. Games begin at 7 p.m.
Advance tickets are $15, while tickets at the door are $18. The price includes cards for three chances at 16 games. Prizes include Longaberger baskets. Additional game boards and raffle tickets will be sold.
Dinner, drinks and dessert will also be available for purchase. Reserved seating is available for pre-sale groups of more than six people.
