Bomb threat probe continues

Dozens of shoppers and employees at the Wal-Mart in Eldersburg were evacuated into the store’s parking lot Friday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported at the store.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police, Westminster Barrack, arrived at the store located on the corner of Route 32 and Liberty Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. to search the building, according to a state police press release.

The search included the use of a bomb detection dog and lasted for more than an hour. Police did not find anything suspicious, according to the release.

Employees and customers remained in the parking lot until 3 p.m. at which time the store reopened.

As of Monday, there were no suspects and the investigation was continuing. Questions can be directed to the Maryland State Police, Westminster Barrack, at 410-386-3000.
