Eight-month-old Anthony Maurice Savoy, III, was shot dead in his car seat in a minivan at the Shadyside Gardens apartment complex on the 2600 block of Shadyside Avenue in Suitland. The baby's father, 22, was standing near the minivan and shot multiple times in his upper body. He is in stable condition at a local hospital.
The baby's mother was in the apartment complex at the time, where the family lives, and was unharmed.
Police are searching for the shooter, who was seen leaving in a dark-colored Chevy Impala with two other people in the car, said Officer Henry Tippett, spokesperson for the Prince George's County Police Department.
"Detectives don't believe this was a random incident," said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, press information officer for the Prince George's County Police Department. "Perhaps the father was the intended target. That's the way the investigation is leading."

A cash reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect(s).
