Canine pool party over police?

Has the Leggett administration lost total control of its management capability and common sense? At a recent meeting in the Flower Hill community near Gaithersburg, we were told by the local police district that the incoming cadet class of 40 had been cut in half to 20 despite a growing sense in the community that this has become a more dangerous place to live.
Yet I read that the county can afford to host a pool party for dogs to swim with other dogs at taxpayer expense at the Wheaton Glenmont pool on Sept. 7. The announcement actually notes that goodies will be provided for all canine participants.
I guess those who have been saying that this county has gone to the dogs haven't been too far off the mark.
