County police report

The following is a summary of recent incidents in the First (Rockville) and Fourth (Wheaton-Glenmont) districts to which the Montgomery County Police responded. The words ‘‘arrested” and ‘‘charged” do not imply guilt.

First District

Strong-arm robberies

*On Aug. 9 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Baltimore Road and Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville. Property was taken. The first robber is described as a back male, 16-20, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 150-170 pounds, cornrows, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. The second is described as a white male, 16-20, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 170-190 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

*On Aug. 12 at 10:55 p.m., Horners Lane and MacArthur Drive in Rockville. Property was taken. The robber is described as a black male, wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt and dark jeans. The second is described as a black male, wearing a black shirt and black jeans.

Armed robbery

*Aug. 10 at 8 a.m., Park Road in Rockville. Knife was used and property was taken. The robber is described as a white male, wearing a white shirt and blue pants.

Theft

*Deer Lake Road and Elmcroft Boulevard, between Aug. 9 and 10. Two vehicles were entered by forced and property was taken.

*Deerbrook and Morning Field Drives in Potomac, between Aug. 13 and 14. Three vehicles were entered by force and property was taken.

*Anchorage Place, Vendome Drive and Vendome Court in Potomac, between Aug. 10 and 11. Three unlocked vehicles were entered and property was taken.

Commercial burglaries

*Foodstop Mini Mart, 4820 Boiling Brook Pkwy. in North Bethesda, between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and 9 a.m. Aug. 8. Attempt made, no property taken.

*Belby’s Beer & Wine, 888 Rockville Pike in Rockville, Aug. 11 between 12:30 and 3:30 a.m. Front glass door was smashed, but no entry gained.

*Wingstop, 14925 Shady Grove Road in Rockville, Aug. 11 between 12 and 7 a.m. Forced entry, property was taken.

*Construction site in the 12500 block of Park Potomac Avenue in Rockville, Aug. 9 between 7 and 10 p.m. Property taken.

*Construction site in the 2200 block of Research Boulevard, between 2 p.m. Aug. 10 and 6 a.m. Aug. 13. Forced entry, property taken.

*Angler’s Inn, 10801 MacArthur Blvd. in Potomac, Aug. 9 between 1 and 6 a.m. Forced entry, property taken.

*Falls Road Golf Course, 10800 Falls Bridge Road, Aug. 11 between 1 and 2 a.m. Forced entry, property was taken. The first burglar is described as a white male, 18-25, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 125-135 pounds, wearing a black shirt. The second is described as a white male, 20’s, 6 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall, 185-200 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt.

Residential burglaries

*500 block of Brent Road, between 10 p.m. Aug. 9 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Forced entry, nothing taken.

*11600 block of Ranch Lane in Rockville, between 6 and 10 p.m. Aug. 7. No forced entry, property taken.

Fourth District

Aggravated assault

*On Aug. 11 in the 13100 block of Hathaway Drive in Wheaton, four young adult males were assaulted by the driver of a Ford pickup with an extended cab, tan in color with Maryland tags. The assailant, described as a Hispanic male, 30-40, reached under the back seat, retrieved a handgun and pointed it at the victims. Two others, described as Hispanic males, 19-20, were seated in the front seat next to the first assailant.

Aggravated assault arrest

*On Aug. 3, a 15-year-old male was arrested for an aggravated assault against a maintenance man . The gun, which turned out to be a pellet gun, was recovered at the assailant’s cousin’s house in Wheaton.

Armed robberies

*On Aug. 13 at 11:37 p.m., Aspen Hill Road and Grenoble Drive in Wheaton. An adult male victim was approached by two men. One of the men was armed with a handgun. He displayed the weapon and property was taken. The robbers are described only as black.

*On Aug. 11 at 8:15 p.m., Barbara Road in Wheaton. An adult male victim was approached by three men with a baseball bat. The victim was assaulted, property taken. Two robbers are described only as Hispanic males and one is described only as a black male.

Strong-arm robbery

*On Aug. 12 at 11:20 p.m., 3300 block of Weeping Willow Court in Wheaton. An adult male victim was followed from the bus stop at Georgia and Connecticut avenues. He was assaulted and property was taken. The robbers are described only as two black females and five black males.

Residential burglaries

*100 block of Haviland Mill Road in Brookeville, Aug. 12. House was vacant.

*3100 block of Birchtree Lane in Wheaton, 11:50 a.m. Aug. 9. Forced entry, nothing taken. The burglar is described as a white male, 18-22, 5 feet 9 inches tall, thin build, short blonde hair, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

*3300 block of Floral Street in Wheaton, discovered Aug. 14. Unlocked shed, property was taken.

*100 block of Kenton Court in Kensington, between 8 a.m. and 2:55 p.m. Aug. 13. Forced entry, property taken.

Commercial burglary

*Uncle Dave’s American Bistro, 5500 Olney-Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, at 1:15 a.m. Aug. 14. Forced entry, property taken. Burglars are described as white males. Vehicle described as a pickup truck.
