Parent not included in decisions on school

As a parent of two students at Maryvale Elementary School, I was horrified to learn one day before school began that Montgomery County Public Schools had decided to decrease the number of fourth-grade teachers this year.

This will cause classes to be more overcrowded than ever, and I find the fact that the Maryvale parents were not advised or included in the decision.

A MCPS community supervisor, in meeting with concerned parents, did not address the group’s concerns and left most attendees feeling that their time had been wasted.

I hope MCPS values the input of parents at other schools more regarding the needs of their students.
