Food is our most important product. People require it for sustenance.

The Montgomery County Agricultural Center in Gaithersburg is a jewel that provides a focus and connection to real life. It’s an education and display center to remind us of our basic need while providing broader understanding for many other activities.

The Ag Center was initially created for kids and agriculture, and to bring learning and understanding to the general public. The center has adapted to change. It includes home arts, photography, hobbies, history and many other topics of interest to the urban population.

The Ag Center and fairgrounds need to be preserved as much as the Agriculture Reserve, and arts, learning and entertainment centers in the county (‘‘Fairgrounds sit on prime property worth nearly $17M,” Aug. 8 article).
