Our Lady of Good Counsel High School began its first full school year at its new Olney campus on Monday.

The incoming freshman class of 358 students is the largest class in the school’s 49-year history, school officials reported. The total enrollment is 1,200 students, also the largest in its history.

‘‘This freshman class has the highest number of honors candidates we have ever had,” said Melissa Huey-Burns, the school’s director of marketing and public relations.

The freshmen come from 80 middle schools, in several counties.

The school’s athletic fields are now ready for use, as is the new athletic training room.

Twenty new teachers have been hired to reduce class size to an average of 20 students.
