Tutoring service opens Bethesda location

Educational Connections, Inc., a regional in-home tutoring service, recently opened a second office in Montgomery County due to the demand for its specialized educational services.

 Located at 4800 Hampden Lane, Suite 200, in Bethesda, The Educational Connections' office provides Secondary School Admission Test administration, educational consultations, academic assessments, and workshops for parents and tutors. 

Educational Connections, Inc. sets high standards for the tutors it hires, who instruct K-12 students in the comfort of their own home in all subjects, reading remediation, and educational coaching. Eighty percent of Educational Connections' tutors have classroom teaching experience, 100 percent have earned bachelor's degrees, and 70 percent hold master's degrees.

Chevy Chase resident named vice president of research firm

Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., recently announced the appointment of Josh Rozen, a resident of Chevy Chase, as vice president. Rozen, who joined Mathematica in 1988, has been director of Corporate Computing Services since 2003. He directs the information technology activities of Mathematica and its subsidiaries and is responsible for administrative and Web systems, as well as computer and network services for all corporate locations.

He has served in many capacities, including as a systems analyst and programmer for large-scale research projects, during his tenure with the firm. He has a B.S. in computer science from Pennsylvania State University.
