Police are still investigating a Sunday afternoon stabbing in Capitol Heights which claimed the life of an Upper Marlboro man.

Police said Christopher Quattlebaum, 48, of the 200 block of Red Jade Drive, was found inside a vehicle in the 6600 block of Central Avenue with a stab wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital where he later died. Prince George's County Police spokesman Cpl. Mike Rodriguez said the police do not yet know if the vehicle belonged to Quattlebaum.

Rodriguez said the police are still searching for a motive but said both Quattlebaum and a male suspect knew each other and that Quattlebaum attempted punching the male before he got stabbed. Rodriguez said no arrests have been made and suspect information is being withheld until the homicide unit finishes its investigation and hands the case over to the county State's Attorney's office.
