Fix bridges before building ICC

Open letter to Gov. Martin O’Malley:

You are, it seems, going to allow the Intercounty Connector to proceed notwithstanding a huge amount of evidence that supports its cancellation.

I think it only proper that the public that elected you should be informed as to how many bridges in our state fall into the same federal rating as the one in Minneapolis that just collapsed.

You are countenancing almost $3 billion to be spent on the ICC — 18 miles of road — while it is likely that numerous highway structures are structurally deficient.

I think it would be derelict of you not to offer to the citizens of the state accurate data with respect to this issue before you spend almost all funds available on the ICC.
