Oakwood at Flower Hill is a townhome community off of Snouffers School Road near Muncaster Mill in Gaithersburg.

The community is home to this charming, end-unit townhome built in 1990. Inside the covered porch, generous windows create sunny rooms throughout.

The two-story foyer has parquet wood floor, a coat closet and a powder room with a large window looking out to the front. A window above the front door and a large Palladian window at the mid-landing of the stairs open up the space.

Ahead, a sunken living room features a pair of windows and a lighted ceiling fan. Carpet lines the floors here and throughout most other rooms.

A railing separates the living area and the dining room, which has a floating wall with a see-through to the kitchen beyond.

The kitchen offers oak cabinets, laminate counters and vinyl floor. A raised bar provides eat-in space, while a double window above the sink overlooks the deck out back.

The deck is accessed from the adjacent breakfast room, which the owners are using as a home office. This space has oak flooring, corner windows and sliding doors to the deck and yard.

Upstairs is home to three bedrooms. The master bedroom -- which the owners use as a children’s room -- has a vaulted ceiling with a lighted fan, a pair of front windows, and a walk-in closet. The attached bath has a tub⁄shower combination.

The other two rooms also have lighted ceiling fans and large windows, and share a hall bath with a shower⁄tub combo. All the rooms and stairs have wall-to-wall carpeting.

The walkout lower level is being used as a second master suite. The main room has a fireplace with a mantel, a lighted ceiling fan, and sliding doors to the yard that opens to common areas.

A full bath is down here and has marble floor, a custom vanity and a shower stall; as is a large, unfinished utility and laundry room with extra storage space.

Recent updates including fresh paint; HVAC, electrical and telephone rewiring; and new wrap, gutters and downspouts in the exterior. The home comes with two assigned parking spaces. Annual HOA fee is $596.
